Meshera area: ancient and beautiful, fabulous and mysterious, surprising and unique. Area of real pristine nature, where impervious forests smells like resin and pine needles, silently moving shadows of stately and leisurely elks fascinate the look, and the wood grouse slid his eternal song in early spring. Everything here, from the carpet of fluffy moss until the transparent-clear air, is the breathing of primordiality.
Geographically Meshera is a lowland in the center of the Russian plain, covering about 1 million hectares, the area of which includes the Vladimir, Ryazan and partly Moscow region.
Today, united management office of the Federal State-Financed Institution «National Park «Meshera» includes two national parks: «Meschera» in Gus-Khrustalny district of Vladimir region and «Meshersky» in Klepikovsky and Ryazansky districts of the Ryazan region, as well as two federal reserves: «Murom» in Murom and Gorokhovetsky districts of Vladimir region and «Klyazma» in the Kovrov district of Vladimir region and Yuzhsky district of the Ivanovo region. The total area of all managed areas greater than 300 thousand hectares.
