The museum of nature was founded in 2004 in the settlement of Urshelskiy. It accommodates more than 200 exhibit items, among them there are over 130 stuffed birds living in the «Meshera» national park. The exhibit items have been divided into 4 groups: birds of wetlands, birds of forests, birds living in open spaces and poultry.
In addition to that, the national park was presented with a unique oological collection that had been built by V.B. Zhbanov. An exposition of bird nests is being prepared. The exhibition is enhanced with information stands with intelligibly presented data on origin of the bird kind.
The museum also exhibits rare species of birds placed under protection in the Vladimir region and listed in Red Book. One of the museum halls accommodates children’s creative works dedicated to birds.
